Not only is Grand Island one of the largest freshwater islands in the world it also is the home of 2 state parks (Beaver Island & Buckhorn State Park), Big Six Mile Creek Marina and Veterans Park, Grand Island’s largest town municipal park.

Beaver Island State Park

Located on the southern tip of the Island , off the South Parkway. It’s offical address is 2136 West Oakfield Rd, Grand Island, NY 14072.
Open year round dawn to dusk. (Admission charge Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day)
Beaver Island State Park has a beach, snack shop, marina, golf course, picnic areas/shelters, disc golf course and disc sales in the park office, volleyball/basketball, fishing, baseball fields, orienteering, sledding hill and cross country skiing. Beaver Island is also the home of the Historical River Lea House, built in 1849 the home once was a summer residence for President Grover Cleveland.

Buckhorn Island State Park

Located on the northern tip of Grand Island on East River Rd. – No picnic areas or shelters available. Wildlife Refuge, fishing, nature trailes (bicycling, walking and cross country skiing.

Veterans Park

The Town of Grand Island municipal park is located on Bedell Rd which is home for soccer, baseball, softball and football. It is also the host of the Miracle League Diamond, a facility for those with special needs.
